Monday Feb 26, 2018
"A desire to seek God as the first object in life - in youth - in each returning day - at the beginning of each year, season, month, week - in all our plans and enterprises - is one of the most certain evidences of true piety; and religion flourishes most in the soul, and flourishes only in the soul, when we make God the first object of our affections and desires." (Barnes' Notes) In this broadcast, we are continuing the theme of Resolutions in our new series entitled - "In The Beginning Was The Word." In this particular broadcast, we will once again cover the subject of "Seeking The Lord" as we deal with Resolution #11 as found in Psalm 63:1 which says - "O God, Thou art my God; early will I seek Thee: my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth for Thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is."

"He is the LORD, Who changeth not. It is still true today and ever will be true. He will be found by those who seek Him with their whole desire." (Gaebelein's Annotated Bible) In this broadcast, we are continuing the theme of Resolutions in our new series entitled - "In The Beginning Was The Word." In this particular broadcast, we will once again cover the subject of "Seeking The Lord" as we deal with Resolution #10. Although all our past resolutions stemmed from the Book of Psalms, and dealt with the character of David, in this broadcast, we will examine King Asa - as found in 2 Chronicles 15 - and see how he - like David - responded to God's command to "Seek the Lord." Prayerfully, through this study, you will have a greater understanding of what it means to do just that - "Seek the Lord."

If you yourselves were about to express, at this moment, the one desire of your hearts - I mean that which was really and sincerely so - what would it be? Many of you would point, I have no doubt, to various things in which happiness is generally regarded as consisting - such a situation, such an income, such family comforts, such temporal enjoyments, and so on. You would, you think, be well content with these. Some few, however, would say that the 'one thing' they would desire is to be Christ's." (The Biblical Illustrator) In this broadcast, we are continuing the theme of Resolutions in our new series entitled - "In The Beginning Was The Word." In this particular broadcast, we will be continuing the theme of "Seeking The Lord" as we deal with Resolution #9 as found in Psalm 27:4 which says - "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beaauty of the LORD, and to enquire in His temple."

"What a contrast is this clear resolve to the indecisions and hesitations so common amongst us." (The Biblical Illustrator) The only way to overcome these two hurdles of "indecisions" and "hesitations" is to have a clear resolve. You have a choice! You can respond to God's call today to "Seek ye My face" with "I will," or you can ignore it or pretend you never heard it and in a sense be saying - "I won't." What will it be?
